Glee este o comedie muzicală care prezintă entuziasmul profesorului Will Schuester de a reinventa Clubul Glee al liceului McKinley. Pentru a realiza această performanţă, acesta provoacă un grup de începători să-şi atingă potenţialul lor artistic. Misiunea lui nu este uşoară, mai ales când clubul îi include pe: Mercedes - o "divă a entertainment-ului"; Arty - un chitarist mai ciudăţel; Kurt - un sopran dramatic; Tina - o punk-rockeriţă şi Rachel - o perfecţionistă, autoproclamată stea. Sistemul închis al liceului împiedică însă dezvoltarea acestui club muzical, astfel că Will îl aduce în echipă pe Finn, un băiat arătos care încearcă să-şi protejeze reputaţia faţă de prietena lui şi faţă de colegul său arogant din echipa de fotbal. Profesorul nu se dă bătut nici în faţa criticilor pe care le primeşte din partea soţiei sale sau a antrenoarei Sue Sylvester şi este determinat să le demonstreze contrariul, conducând clubul către cea mai importantă competiţie: Naţionalele.
