Kellan Christopher Lutz pe numele sau complet s-a nascut pe 15 martie 1985 in Dickenson, din statul Dakota de Nord, intr-o familie numeroasa, fiind fratele mijlociu intre alti 6. Dupa absolvirea liceului, Kellan s-a mutat in Los Angeles pentru colegiu, unde a decis sa inceapa o cariera in actorie. A avut de ales intre actorie, inginerie chimica sau o slujba in domeniu marinei. Isi incepe cariera prin rolurile in importante seriale tv precum "Model de cetateni", "CSI: New York" etc
Debuteaza pe marile ecrane in filme precum "Deep snow" si "Prom Night". Rolul care l-a facut cunoscut este cel a lui Emmet Cullen din filmul de mare succes "Twilight", facut dupa cartea cu acelasi nume scrisa de Stephanie Mayer, unde a jucat alaturi de amica sa Ashley Greene. Actorul a semnat deja pentru "New Moon", continuarea povestii "Twilight", care va aparea in 2009, in luna noiembrie. Printre proiectele de viitor se mai numara si rolurile din filmele "Warrior" unde va interpreta rolul lui Conor Sullivan.
